Pinecrest Garden’s Egg-Stravaganza

– Pinecrest Garden’s is a beautiful park and they always have great events going on. This weekend we went to their Easter Egg-stravaganza event and I  was not too impressed with the Easter egg hunt for toddler aged children. As you can see in the picture below, the egg hunt was in the Splash n’ Play area. They had placed a bunch of eggs on the floor and when they yelled ‘GO’ all of the children were supposed to get the eggs. Now this is where the problem began. The parents were grabbing all of the eggs for their children before they even said “GO!”. My daughter was only able to grab 2 eggs. We basically paid $5 for 2 eggs which had one mint in each egg. You can imagine she was not too excited about this! I can understand if the parents were helping the younger kids because there were children of all ages involved, but the Easter egg hunt was for children ages 1 through 3. It appeared to be more like an Easter Egg Hunt for adults! The parents were jumping in front of my daughter and other children and literally grabbing eggs out of their hands! Parent’s please remember that this is about the kids and you should practice what you preach; use your manners and follow the rules!

If anyone had a similar experiences I would like to hear about it. You can comment below.

Oh that's just sad on so many levels. So sorry her hunt was so disappointing. On the bright side, she looked gorgeous.

Our family did this last year and it was similar but not as bad as your experience. I guess the staff at Pinecrest Gardens are not making it clear to the other parents that this is ONLY for the children and to go after the eggs calmly. It is though a more reasonably priced egg hunt as other places such as Metro Zoo are offering a egg hunt at a very high price but this also includes the Zoo. Some other parks in Coral Gables are sponsoring this event free. You may want to try looking at the addresses first before going so that you choose a good neighborhood park. www.coralgables.com See “EGGSTREME” HUNT & CARNIVAL TO TAKE PLACE SATURDAY, APRIL 3
