  • Bike trailers

-This afternoon we went on a family bike ride through The Hammocks in Kendall and my 2 year old daughter fell asleep within 20 minutes of riding! Now, when I purchased the bike seat that goes on the back I wasn’t thinking about what would happen if she fell asleep. Well, we had to end the bike ride because her head was moving back and forth like a bobble head, poor thing! If your looking for a young child’s bike seat consider buying the trailer instead. They are more expensive but it’s worth it because you never know when they are going to fall asleep.

    – Starting school can be an electrifying yet apprehensive experience for both you and your kids. As parents we are always looking for new ideas to keep our kids interested in their school assignments and activities. Make sure to read this article which has some helpful homework information.

Routine: Create a routine and stick with it. Talk with your children about when  and where they want to do homework.

Organization: Designate a homework area and keep it clean and organized at all times.

Creativity: Place a cork board above your child’s desk and have them pin up pictures , art work and A+ graded homework assignments to keep them inspired to do their best.

  • Brown bag or lunch tray?

-Do you send your kids to school with a homemade lunch or do they buy school lunch?

There are so many things to think about when your making your childrens lunch:

    1. Will the cold juice box leak?
    2. Are they bored of the same old sandwich every week?
    3. Finding ways to make healthy food fun for kids
    4. Thinking of creative lunch recipes

    Ideas for a fun lunch:

    • Fortune cookie as a sweet treat
    • Use cookie cutter’s to make fun shaped sandwiches
    • Cut out kids magazine articles and put them in their lunch box
    • Fun stickers www.SmileMakers.com
    • Choose a theme for the lunch
    • Let your kids plan the lunch and help them put it together
    • Always leave a note or just a smiley face 🙂

  • The Perfect Paw-ty

    – You have a birthday party for your kids every year, why not throw a party for your dogs? In many ways they are like your kids and are part of the family too.  Here are some ideas on throwing the perfect paw-ty!

    Puppy Paw'tyLocation:

    • Your backyard
    • Dog Park: Tropical Park
    • Dog friendly beach: Rickenback Causeway Dog Beach

    Who to invite:
This is totally up to you but make sure you are not going to be overwhelmed. I would suggest about 2-4 dogs and their owners.

    Posh paw-ty invitations:

    Doggy Decor:

    • You don’t have to go out of control because the doggy decor is really for the owners not the dogs.
    • Set out dog dishes with different types of bones and treats and put a cute ribbon around the bowl to make it festive
    • Doggy favor bags should include a bone, toy and some treats
    • Don’t forget to order or make a doggy birthday cake!
