  • Girl Scout Council Seeks Volunteers!

Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida Seeks Volunteers in

    Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties

The Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida is seeking volunteers in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties to facilitate the Girl Scout Leadership Experience that helps girls in grades K-12, discover what they can do, learn to connect with others, and take action to improve the world around them.

Girl Scouting could not happen without the commitment of adults – just like you – who want to help girls through different volunteer opportunities available at our Council.  We know your commitment and actions will make a difference in a girl’s life.

Volunteer opportunities are available to adults 18 and over, pending background checks.  The Council offers many ways in which you have the freedom of tailoring your level of involvement to fit your schedule and lifestyle.

    • Direct service to girls as a leader in a troop or group, short-term mentoring, day camp, outdoor education and sports, ecology and the environment, technology, crafts, music, arts, field trips, community service projects and many other areas.
    • Behind the scenes support in the areas of administrative support, fund raising, web design, data entry, publicity, brand promotion and event planning.

To learn about Volunteering opportunities with Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida, please contact 305-253-4841, ext. 235 or email Maria Santos at msantos@girlscoutsfl.org. For more information on the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida, visit www.girlscoutsfl.org.

  • Pumpkin Patch Pictures

    – We visited the Miami Springs and Miami Lakes pumpkin patches this weekend. Check out the pictures below. If you are looking for those adorable little pumpkins you have to go to the Miami Springs pumpkin patch. They also have homemade pumpkin & raisin bread for sale. The Miami Lakes pumpkin patch was the perfect place to get a family picture. Unfortunately when I got there it started to rain. So, the magician had to leave and most of the activities were canceled. Once the rain let up we were able to let the kids enjoy the pumpkin patch. They will also have events going on next weekend. To see the details on Halloween events in Miami check out the Halloween Events post.
