Carnaval on the Mile

The annual music festival takes place along Miracle Mile in downtown Coral Gables. There is a children’s section with bounce houses, climbing towers, face painting  and much more.

Taste of Pinecrest
Where: Pinecrest Gardens
When: Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 11:00am – 5:00pm
Each year, the Pinecrest Business Association along with local restaurants and businesses sponsor the Taste of Pinecrest at Pinecrest Gardens. All proceeds from the festival benefit the five Pinecrest public schools. The festival features Pinecrest-area restaurants,entertainment for the children, a judged art show, performances by local school groups and a business showcase.

Spring at the Falls with “The Little Farm” Petting Zoo

The Falls welcomes families to enjoy an afternoon of outdoor activities to celebrate the coming of spring! The Brain Fair
Where: Miami Science Museum ; 3280 South Miami Ave, Miami FL

The Brain Fair is a free educational event sponsored by the University of Miami . The Brain Fair is designed to teach children and their parents about how the brain and spinal cord works. The children will get to participate in hands-on learning activities such as building a neuron, drawing a brain on a shower cap, and playing memory games. There are also lectures for adults given by University of Miami neuroscientists on topics such as Autism, Sleep Disorders, Brain Injury, and Alzheimer’s disease.

Key Biscayne Art Festival
Where: 455 Grand Bay Drive, Key Biscayne, FL

Hosted annually by The Rotary Club of Key Biscayne, the Key Biscayne Art Festival is a pleasant event to attend. Visit Miami’s “Island Paradise” and browse the works of more than 200 artists. Deering Seafood Festival
Where: Deering Estate at Cutler
When: Sunday, March 27 from 11:00am – 6:00pm
Towering stilt walkers welcome guests to the family-friendly Deering Seafood Festival, on Sunday, March 27th for a magical, island-style celebration. Set on the biggest backyard on Biscayne Bay kids of all ages can enjoy non-stop live entertainment, colorfully costumed Bahamian Junkanoo musicians, pontoon boat rides, a Lil’ Shrimp Kids Zone and an Artist Village. New this year is the Deering Discovery Cove, a simulated underwater archaeological adventure. The Cove, was created by the Estate’s Education staff, and kids build their own sea-worthy vessels, discover marine life, uncover sunken treasures and learn about bioluminescence and animal adaptation. Top local restaurants feature Florida’s best seafood, (land lover options are available) while celebrity chefs wow the crowds with cooking demos under the big top tent.

Future Foodies Club ( For Kids)

Future Foodies Club cooking activities at Whole Foods Market Pinecrest introduce kids ages three and up to the world of food in a fun,
creative and educational way. This month, local Chef Adri Garcia teaches the kids how to prepare nutritional breakfasts, without using foods
that are high in calories, sugar, and fat. Class will take place in the café and is limited to 25 participants – registration is required. To register

One of the biggest delights for kids in Miami is experienced every March – when the Miami-Dade County Fair and Exposition, better known as “The Fair,” comes to town. Miami’s fair is one of the largest in the country, attracting nearly 700,000 visitors each year. It has everything you could want at a fair – monster roller coasters, scary haunted houses, kiddie rides, games, cotton candy, elephant ears, and much more.
