  • Sharing memories

    – Our busy lives sometimes make it hard to visit our families as much as we want to. Thank God for the Internet and photo sharing sites like Facebook, Picasa and Smilebox. With many of our family members across the country we can still share family photos within minutes. I’ve gotten many thank you e-mails for sending out so many great pictures of my daughter from the moment she was born. I mainly use Picasa from Google, which allows you to edit and share photos with family and friends. And Smilebox is a site I have recently come across and is great for sending out personalized e-cards, sideshows and digital scrapbooks. Which ever site you choose to use just remember to always keep your camera on you and click away!

  • Halloween

Hosting a Halloween party is the best thing you can do when you have kids. Decorate the party depending on their age. If they are toddlers you won’t want to fill your house with skulls and monsters. Another option for trick or treating is to set up stations around your house and backyard for the children to trick or treat at. Each station will have an adult to hand out candy and sweet treats. Remember to have fun with it and dress up.

  • Taking time for yourself

As mothers we take care of everyone around us and sometimes forget about ourselves. Pamper yourself once and a while and get a pedicure, facial or massage. If this is out of your budget you can always pamper yourself at home. Many products you will need are available at your local beauty supply store or e.l.f. Bath & Body. Bath & Body Products at the Great Low Prices You’ve Come to Expect From e.l.f. Cosmetics. A spa party is also something fun to do with your friends. Have each person bring a different beauty product and try them out.

    My beauty tips:

    • Use a slightly damp blending wedge to apply concealer and foundation
    • Exfoliate once a week with a do-it-yourself  Brown Sugar Scrub : 1 cup Brown Sugar & 1/2 cup sweet almond oil ( or olive oil).
    • Always wear sunscreen! This should be your one splurge buy.

  • Bike trailers

-This afternoon we went on a family bike ride through The Hammocks in Kendall and my 2 year old daughter fell asleep within 20 minutes of riding! Now, when I purchased the bike seat that goes on the back I wasn’t thinking about what would happen if she fell asleep. Well, we had to end the bike ride because her head was moving back and forth like a bobble head, poor thing! If your looking for a young child’s bike seat consider buying the trailer instead. They are more expensive but it’s worth it because you never know when they are going to fall asleep.
