    – Get up early , gas up the car and head over to Lion Country Safari for a fun filled day. Start off the day with the walking part and finish off the day with the drive through safari. It’s a little bit of a drive but it’s worth it!

  • Kids In The Kitchen

-Let your little ones crack the eggs, stir the batter and make something delicious! Here are some great finds to add to your kitchen.

Cupcakes seem to be taking over cakes! There are so many specialty cupcake shops in Miami with delicious cupcakes and beautiful designs. I love the idea of the giant cupcake cake with a bunch of cupcakes and mini cupcakes displayed around the cupcake cake.

These colorful cookie cutters are kid friendly and are perfect to make a star shaped sandwich or heart shaped Rice Krispie treats!  The soft handles make it easy for kids to use.

Brownie pops have become very popular thanks to Bakerella and make a wonderful presentation for any party! Use your imagination and come up with all kind of deserts with the brownie pop molds.

I love these kitchen utensils! They’re fun and make a great gift for any child who loves to help out in the kitchen.

My favorite ‘Kids in the Kitchen’ products:

  • Recycle!

-The other day I overheard my niece and nephew (niece, 6 yrs & nephew, 5 yrs) talking about recycling. I’ve always recycled and have been trying to get them and their parents to recycle , so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to teach them a little bit more . This is a very simple project you can do with your kids. Enjoy 🙂

1.Saved any item which could be recycled

2.Printed out basic information on recycling and recycling coloring pages

3.Used cardboard boxes to make separate “bins” for glass, plastic bottles, aluminum, cardboard and newspaper. I used colored card stock and glued it on to one side of the box then glued on the title and recycling sign which I had printed out.

    4. Had the kids separate recyclable items into their correct bin. (They really loved smashing the plastic bottles!)

    5. Then they colored their recycle signs coloring pages and made collages out of old magazine clippings, stickers and bottle caps.

  • Miami Lakes West Park

    – This is a well-maintained park which I love and the playground and benches are covered. Overall I would say this is a great park. There are restrooms and water fountains which are a deal breaker for me when I’m taking my daughter to a park. It would also make a great birthday location.
